When you are driving on old Mumbai pune highway then near somatne toll plaza you can find Ghorwadeshwar Caves. You can see some stairs going upward in between somatane and dehuroad. Those stairs goes to Ghorwadeshwar Caves.
There are about 362 stairs to climb. When you start climbing then you will realize that those stairs are really difficult to climb. While climbing breaks are required. after climbing stairs there is one valley you should continue your trek through it, there is no stairs in valley, after climbing for 25 to 30 mins without stairs you can see caves cutted in the rocks those are ghorwadeshwar caves.
There is a one fork which devide's the road into two parts. One goes to right and other goes to left. Through both these roads you can see caves. When you go to right then you see 8 to 9 caves. There is also a temple there which is known as ghorwadeshwar temple. Caves are surrounded from both sides of this temple.
When you return back and take left turn then there is also one cave. People says that the priest of the temple was leaving there.
From the top you can see a beautiful scene. After a long tired full climbing you can decide to rest on the rocks for sometime while watching the scene. Also you can see the huge ganpati statue of shirgao from here. Finally Ghorwadeshwar Caves is a very beautiful place to visit.
How to go to Ghorwadeshwar Caves
You can visit Ghorwadeshwar Caves from car or bike. Ghorwadeshwar Caves are close to somatne toll plaza and in between somatane and dehuroad. Ghorwadeshwar caves are about 30 km from pune. You can reach there by traveling over old Mumbai pune highway.
If you are coming from pune side then you should travel 7 to 8 kilometers from dehuroad police station. And if you are coming from lonavala side then travel over old Mumbai pune highway, travel about 1 to 2 kilometers from somatne toll plaza. You can see map below.

You can visit Ghorwadeshwar Caves at
any time, but as per my opinion jully to September is best time visit.
