Induri fort

Induri fort is a fort in Maharashtra state located in induri village near talegaon dabhade. Induri fort is about 35 km from lonavala and pune. Induri fort is about 1033 m above the sea level. Induri fort was built by sarsenapati khandojirao yesajirao dabhade in 1720-21. It was under maratha empire for most of the time. Now induri fort is not in very good condition it is damaged but still it is a good place to visit.

Induri fort is located on the banks of the indrayani river, therefore during monsoons you can experience good view with greenery. Entrance gate of the fort is still in good condition, you can drive directly into the fort. There are total 9 bastions which are well connected to fortification wall. Fortification wall is about 30 to 40 feet high.

Inside the fort there is a temple of goddess kadjai, this temple is now restored and in good condition. Induri fort is relatively small as compare to other forts in Maharashtra.

The fort is not in good condition but still there is lot to explore inside the fort, this place had a interesting history. There is also a watchtower inside the fort, you can climb to watchtower but steps are brocken at many places. You can also walk along the sides of the entrance. There is also one gadhi inside the induri fort, gadhi is a place where those peoples conducts meetings. Gadhi is beautifully constructed from inside. You can go to uppermost part of the gadhi.

How to go to induri fort

Induri fort is located in induri village near talegaon chakan highway. Induri fort can be accessed easily from pune and lonavala. Nearest railway station to induri fort is talegaon dabhade railway station. If you are coming from lonavala side then you should go through old Mumbai pune highway upto talegaon dabhade then you should take a left turn. While driving over talegaon chakan highway you can reach induri fort near induri village. Walls of the induri fort can be seen directly from highway.
