Wadeshwar waterfalls - Unexplored place near Pune

Lets talk about a beautiful but lesser known  place near pune, Wadeshwar waterfalls. Wadeshwar waterfalls also known as khandi waterfalls is a very beautiful place to visit near lonavala and pune. This place is about 24 to 25 kilometers away from lonavala. It is a great place to visit for nature lowers.

As we know that people like us are always remains busy in there work, it can be job or business. Those who are bored of watching that concrete jungle everyday and want a small break from that stress full life, for those wadeshwar waterfalls are very relaxing to visit.

Wadeshwar waterfalls are not so famous like other waterfalls in Maharashtra. You can say that it is a isolated beauty. You will not find any kind of advertisement or publicity at this location. But still wadeshwar waterfalls deserves your visit, you should visit them at least once for unforgettable experience. If you are visiting lonavala then you shouldn't miss this place.

How to go to wadeshwar waterfalls

Car or bike

Please read this carefully because it is not possible to locate wadeshwar waterfalls by Google maps. Road is also not shown correctly on Google maps.

Wadeshwar waterfalls are about 24 to 25 kilometers from lonavala and about 52 kilometers from pune. This place is between vadgaon and kamshet. You should go through old Bombay pune highway upto kanhe, then you should take a left turn if you are coming from lonavala or right turn if you are coming from pune. 

Then you have to go through a railway gate, when you are at railway gate then kanhe railway station is visible at your left side while going and at right side while returning. Then drive for about 8 to 10 kilometers without taking any fork and you will reach near wadeshwar waterfalls. 

Road is very narrow and old therefore driving will not be easy at all. But when you will reach the destination then by watching the beauty of the place you will forget all your pains. 

Road is very narrow for cars to pass therefore you can use bike if you like. You can see the map below.

Other modes of transport

Local trains are available upto kanhe from pune as well as from lonavala. from kanhe you can go by local bus but frequency of bus is very low. Autos are also available from kanhe phata but i will suggest don't rely on them and use your own car.

How the place is ?

When you will reach near wadeshwar then you can see waterfalls, there are 3 to 4 waterfalls back to back. You can stop your vehicle and can go close to these waterfalls. These are sahyadri mountains on which these waterfalls are visible. Everything is covered by greenery including land and mountains. With white natural water falling from high is very satisfying to watch. Also you can see the peaks of all mountains covered by white clouds.

The place is very silent, you can only here the sound of insects and noise of falling water. Small villages are also visible nearby. No any parking is required for car, you can park your vehicle anywhere.

What is the Right time to visit ?

Wadeshwar waterfalls are available only during monsoons and not in summer and winter. Therefore plan your travel when there is sufficient rainfall. As per my opinion it is better to visit wadeshwar waterfalls in August or September.

Important point to note

1. There is no availability of shops to buy food or water, therefore bring food and water with you.

2. There is no availability of hotels or lodge therefore plan your travel for one day only, don't decided to stay. In case you are interested to stay then stay in lonavala.

3. Road is very narrow and old therefore driving will be painful.
